Prayer of One Troubled at Prayer by Distraction, Inattention and Sloth

Gather my scattered mind, O Lord, and cleanse my frozen heart; give me repentance like Peter’s, a cry like the publican’s and tears like the harlot’s, and with a loud voice I call upon Thee, O God: save me, as Thou alone art good and the Lover of mankind.

O Lord, if I have read this prayer with slackness and a scattered mind, forgive me and save me in Thy mercy.
