A Driver’s Prayer
O all-good and all-merciful God, who in Thy mercy and love for mankind shelterest all: through the intercessions of the Theotokos and all the saints, shelter from sudden death and from every trial me, a sinner, and these people entrusted to me, and bless me to bring them safely wherever they need.
O merciful God, deliver me from evil haste and unclean drunkenness, which are the cause of every calamity and of sudden death without confession.
Grant me, O Lord, to reach old age with a clean conscience, without the burden of people killed or injured through my negligence, that Thy holy name may be glorified, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
