Prayer for One’s Spiritual Father

O Lord, have mercy on my spiritual father, confessor and teacher (name); deliver him from all evil, cleanse him from every stain, grant him health of body and soul, shelter him by the prayers of the holy angels, and punish him not for my sins.

O Lord, lift from him all my transgressions; grant him wisdom and love, and raise him up in soul and body; and through his prayer grant me forgiveness of my sins. Pour down upon him abundantly Thy rich mercies; help him and give him an upright life; guard him from enemies visible and invisible, shelter him from the slander of men, and grant repentance to his flock, that they may inherit the kingdom of God.

O Lord, remember my spiritual father and teacher (name); keep him and shelter him for many years. Amen.

O all-good and blessed Jesus, most sweet, cleanse by Thy grace my spiritual father, confessor and teacher (name); justify him by Thy righteousness and keep him by Thy great mercy, and deprive us not of Thy kingdom, that together we may inherit the kingdom of heaven. Grant to his spiritual children forgiveness of our transgressions, as Thou art good and the Lover of mankind, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen!

O Mother of God, the toil and pain of my spiritual father and confessor (name) are not hidden from thee. Thou knowest every secret of his thoughts. Stretch out the hand of thy help, keep him from the evil of men, and by thy protection guard him from all suffering and straits; bless his works, and through his prayer grant us patience, obedience, silence, hope, humility and steadfastness.

Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
