Prayer for Deliverance from the Devices of the Devil and from Curses
O Lord, Lover of mankind, Thou knowest the weakness of men; but I entreat Thee, strengthen me against Thine adversaries and the devil, that by Thy power I may overcome him and trample him down, and offer glory to Thee, the Giver of victory, unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O invisible Lord, who didst establish the earth and set a bound to the sea, that it should not pass Thy command; who didst loose the bound and bind the devil, and trample down the power of the great serpent: do Thou, O Lord, let not this beast prevail over me, but give me strength to overcome him who wars against me, and deliver me, O my God; for Thou art my Lord, and to Thee is due glory unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O Lord God, who didst order all things visible and invisible, before whose face all things tremble from everlasting and every being is afraid, Hope of the hopeless, Light of truth: look upon me, have mercy on me and loose my bondage, for my soul is in Thy hands; forsake me not, and let not my soul perish, nor my mind be shaken by all the passions and wiles of the enemy; but establish my faith, drive away and cast out sin from me, and gladden me with Thy glory for ever. Amen.
O Lord, who dwellest on high, have mercy on me, and destroy not my soul with the lawless, nor my life with men of blood and adulterers; cast me not away, nor give my soul over to delusion; let not my faith be trampled down, O Christ, nor my thought be turned from Thee, O Lord my God; cast not my faith into the mire* (*mire — foul, stinking mud) and filth, and let not my feet be shaken from firmness by the enemy, the devil who hateth good; but I entreat Thee: send from on high Thy Holy Spirit of grace, that I may be strengthened by Thy power and trample him down, for he is truly the deceiver of all men; and I will offer to Thee the sacrifice of praise and confession, O Giver of victory, unto the ages of ages. Amen.
In Thee, O Lord, do I trust; let me never be put to shame, and let not mine enemy laugh at me; and let none be put to shame who wait upon Thee. Look upon me and deliver me from the hand of the lawless, and let not my soul be trampled down. Forsake me not, O Lord my God, Jesus Christ; for for Thy name’s sake many dogs have compassed me, and the assembly of the wicked hath surrounded me. But do Thou, O Lord, make haste to help me; deliver me from the mouth of the lion, and my lowliness from the horns of the unicorn; strengthen me, O Lord, and give me a living spirit, that my prayer may go up before Thee into heaven. Send, O Lord, my help from heaven, from Thy holiness, that I may be victorious over mine enemy who wars against me; and shelter me from all griefs, diseases and pains, from the wounds of the passions and from sudden death, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Depart from me and war not against me, O evil race, terrifier and slayer of men, for I have God as the guardian of my life; depart from me, for Christ, the Son of God, is my helper. I am His servant (handmaid), whose name is blessed for ever. Amen.
I praise and magnify Thee, O holy immortal King, unshakeable rock, strong tower, crown of pearl, sceptre of strength, skilful pilot, throne of rest, precious stone, hope of the faithful, beginning of wisdom, King of the countless angels, mighty protector and guardian: let my faith never be shaken, but I await Thy Holy Spirit to kindle my soul, that I may trample down him who terrifies me and find the boldness of victory, and rejoice and give thanks to Thee, O eternal King, to whom alone is due glory unto the ages of ages. Amen.
