Paraklesis to All the Saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia
Through the prayers of our holy fathers, O Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us. Amen.
Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee.
O Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, who art everywhere present and fillest all things with Thy grace, Treasury of good things and Giver of life: come and abide in us, and cleanse us from every stain, and save our souls, O Good One.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us (Thrice).
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. O Lord, deliver us and release us from our sins; O Master, pardon our iniquities; O Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Thy name’s sake.
Lord, have mercy. (Thrice)
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Lord, have mercy. (Twelve times)
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O come, let us worship God our King. O come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King and God. O come, let us worship and fall down before Christ Himself, our King and our God.
O Lord, attend to my prayer: hearken to my supplication in thy truth; hear me in thy righteousness. And enter not into judgment with thy servant, for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has brought my life down to the ground; he has made me to dwell in a dark place, as those that have been long dead. Therefore my spirit was grieved in me; my heart was troubled within me. I remembered the days of old; and I meditated on all thy doings: yea, I meditated on the works of thine hands. I spread forth my hands to thee; my soul thirsts for thee, as a dry land. Pause. Hear me speedily, O Lord; my spirit has failed; turn not away thy face from me, else I shall be like to them that go down to the pit. Cause me to hear thy mercy in the morning; for I have hoped in thee; make known to me, O Lord, the way wherein I should walk; for I have lifted up my soul to thee. Deliver me from mine enemies, O Lord; for I have fled to thee for refuge. Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God; thy good Spirit shall guide me in the straight way. Thou shalt quicken me, O Lord, for thy name's sake; in thy righteousness thou shalt bring my soul out of affliction. And in thy mercy thou wilt destroy mine enemies, and wilt destroy all those that afflict my soul; for I am thy servant.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, glory to Thee, O God (Thrice).
God is the Lord and hath appeared unto us; blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Verse 1: O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever. Verse 2: All nations compassed me about, and in the name of the Lord I drove them back. Verse 3: I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Verse 4: The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner; this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes. Troparion of All Saints of the Church of Georgia.
Through the struggle of those of the holy Church of Georgia who suffered for Christ, of the venerable and God-bearing fathers, the kings and queens, the righteous and all the saints, light shineth upon all the land and leadeth us to the promised Kingdom of heaven; through them we entreat Thee, O our Jesus: grant us a faith like theirs, by their prayers keep our Church and our fatherland, and grant our souls great mercy.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
The same troparion.
Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
We will never cease, O Theotokos, we the unworthy, from speaking of thy mighty acts; for hadst thou not stood before us to intercede, who would have delivered us from so many dangers? And who would have kept us free until now? We will not depart from thee, O Lady, for thou ever savest thy servants from all misfortunes.
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy great mercy; and according to the multitude of thy compassions blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I am conscious of mine iniquity; and my sin is continually before me. Against thee only have I sinned, and done evil before thee: that thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. For, behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sins did my mother conceive me. For, behold, thou lovest truth: thou hast manifested to me the secret and hidden things of thy wisdom. Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be purified: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow. Thou shalt cause me to hear gladness and joy: the afflicted bones shall rejoice. Turn away thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit in my inward parts. Cast me not away from thy presence; and remove not thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of thy salvation: establish me with thy directing Spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and ungodly men shall turn to thee. Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation: and my tongue shall joyfully declare thy righteousness. O Lord, thou shalt open my lips; and my mouth shall declare thy praise. For if thou desiredst sacrifice, I would have given it: thou wilt not take pleasure in whole-burnt-offerings. Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit: a broken and humbled heart God will not despise. Do good, O Lord, to Sion in thy good pleasure; and let the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then shalt thou be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, offering, and whole-burnt-sacrifices: then shall they offer calves upon thine altar. Ode 1, irmos. Ode 3, irmos. Prokeimenon, Tone 4. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but Thy people in the mercy of God. The Red Sea was divided, the people of Israel was saved and Pharaoh was drowned with his horsemen, that we may sing to God, for He is glorified.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
Strengthened by the grace of God, O holy fathers, martyrs and all the assembly of the saints, ye overcame the weakness of human nature, brought the devices of the demons to nothing, and, imitating Christ, laid down your lives for your neighbours: now also ask of God mercy for us.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
The Georgian people cherished the teaching of Christ, planted by the apostles, made to flourish by holy Nino and confirmed by the fathers, and brought forth fruit a thousandfold, and swore to Christ, saying: “We will not be false to thee, our holy mother, the Catholic Church, nor will we betray thee, O our boast, Orthodoxy.”
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
O holy children of the Church of Georgia, made one by the grace of the Holy Trinity, we entreat you: grant us your fervour of faith, that we too with you may glorify the all-holy Trinity, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O all-holy Theotokos, who didst bear the Saviour of the world, look upon thy lot, the people, the inheritance of the Georgians, and make us worthy, according to the teaching of thy Son, to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
Strengthened by the faith of our holy fathers, kept by their prayers and stirred to imitate them, the Georgian people magnifieth Thee, O God, and crieth to Thee: None is holy as Thou, O Lover of mankind.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
God hath shown you to us as advocates, as our boast, helpers and protectors, O saints raised up from among our people; and we entreat you: intercede for us before God, that He may have mercy on our souls.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
As the mountains and hills of Georgia became the footstool of churches and the deserts the dwelling of saints, so ye made your flesh a temple of the Holy Spirit; and now, standing before the heavenly throne, ask great mercy for us.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
Ye believed in the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit as a consubstantial, undivided and unconfused Trinity, and bequeathed to us faithfulness to Orthodoxy; and we with you confess the Holy Trinity in Orthodox wise.
Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Thou didst promise with thine own lips, O all-holy Theotokos, protection to thy chosen people; and we, kept by the grace of thine icon given to us through the apostle Andrew and by thy holy robe, confess thee for ever as the Mother of God and our Lady.
Deliver thy servants from dangers, O most holy Virgin Theotokos, for after God we all flee unto thee, as to an unbreakable wall and protection.
Look down with favour upon us, O all-praised Theotokos, and heal the grievous wounds of our bodies and the sicknesses of our souls.
O intercessors for them that entreat and magnify you, luminaries of the holy Church of Iberia, whose names are written in heaven, together we make your memorial today before Christ God, that through your prayers He may grant peace to the world and great mercy to our people.
Irmos: Thou art Christ our God, the God of our fathers; Thou art our life and our boast, who enlightenest the darkness of the gloom and deliverest from the shadow of death; to Thee we sing and say: Glory to Thy power, O Lover of mankind.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
Your heart and mind, cleansed by faith in Christ, made your life fragrant and fair to behold, and it was offered upon the altar of heaven; we entreat you, O blessed ones, ask of God the cleansing of our hearts and minds.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
O saints glorified by God and honoured by the faithful, we magnify your struggles and labours, and we entreat you, we who are all your kin and hope in your holiness: ask for us also to be numbered with your choir.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Make us also one, as ye are one, O Father unbegotten, Son begotten of the Father and Spirit proceeding from the Father, O holy and undivided Trinity.
Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
In thy motherly care we hope and before thee we bow down, O Theotokos, who hast said that thou art the advocate for the blotting out of our sins and our intercessor.
Irmos: As Jonah once in the belly of the whale, so we, sunk in sins and temptations, call upon Thee: Deliver us from evil; to Thee we cry: Hear us, O God our Saviour.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
Your prayers and labours were offered before God like Mary's sitting at the feet of Jesus and Martha's busy care: ask for your brethren who lie in the grave of sin a rising from corruption.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
Ye shine among the Georgians, blessed for your virtues, ye who for the sake of our life poured out blood and sweat abundantly with joy, ye who ask for us the countless riches of heaven and show us mercy.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
Well did ye finish your course, O saints, and received from Christ the promised crown of glory. And we, through your intercession, ask mercy of Christ, to whom alone is due glory, honour and worship, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, unto the ages.
Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O Lady Mary, beheld in mystery by the prophets, but proclaimed by the apostles in truth as Theotokos, all-holy, spotless and incorrupt, glorified by our fathers and loved by the martyrs, entreat thy Son and our God to have mercy on our souls.

The Lord said, I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
Through the intercessions of all the saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, O Merciful One, blot out the multitude of our transgressions.
Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great mercy, and according to the multitude of Thy compassions blot out my transgression, and have mercy on me, O God.
They struggled in a manner pleasing to Thee and shed their blood for Thy faith, O Christ our God; and now, at rest with the saints, the children of our fatherland sing to Thee, and we with them say: Blessed art Thou, O God of our fathers, unto the ages.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
Thy crucifixion we too live through in awesome chant, O Christ God; make us also partakers of Thy glorious resurrection, that we too, in the blessed Georgian tongue and many-voiced song, may say: Blessed art Thou, O God of our fathers.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
The Georgian people, enlightened by the holy apostles, ye strengthened by your life and even more by your blessed end; and now we entreat you, O blessed ones: ask great mercy for us from God.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
Worthily we magnify and honour the memory of all the holy assemblies of Georgia, and together we glorify the Father who crowned them, the Son who strengthened them and the Holy Spirit who spoke in them.
Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
We magnify thee, O Theotokos, all-spotless Virgin Mary, who with thine icon didst send to the land that is thy lot the apostle Andrew, and with the Cross of the vine the holy virgin Nino, equal to the apostles, and through them didst divinely enlighten us, O most blessed one.
As the youths passed through the Chaldean furnace with prophetic song, so ye too, O blessed ones, passed unburnt through the multitude of afflictions and temptations that raged to drown our Church and fatherland, and taught us the divine hymn: Bless the Lord, ye works of the Lord, and supremely exalt Him unto the ages.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
Ye hallowed the Georgian tongue with the word of God, enriched the fatherland with blood and sweat, and kept the faith spotless for us; and, shining with holiness, righteousness, understanding, wisdom and courage, ye supremely exalt God unto the ages.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.
What shall we tell of your struggles, O ye glorified of God: your prayers, fasts, endurance, humility, valour or wisdom? How shall we comprehend, O blessed ones, the blood shed for Christ and the lives laid down for us? But accept this small mite and ask of God mercy for us.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
We believe, as our fathers believed, in the all-holy Trinity, undivided, unconfused and ineffable; we hope in the Father, we pray to the Son, and, strengthened by the Holy Spirit, we say this divine hymn: Alleluia.
Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Thou wast pleased to command that thine icon, which bled when pierced with a spear by the lawless, be brought to the monastery of the Iberians, and there thou didst promise us everlasting protection: we hope, O Mother of God, in thy might.
When God appeared to men through thee, heaven and earth were amazed; thy Son bequeathed us to thee as children; we confess thee as Mother and say the praise spoken by our fathers: The Theotokos, the Mother of the Light, let us magnify in hymns.
All ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, pray to God for us.

O Holy Trinity, exalt today, unbending, the horn of the Church of Iberia, built upon the unshaken cornerstone, and strengthen us by the prayers of the saints.
Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

It is truly meet that we should magnify thee, O Theotokos, who art ever-blessed and all-immaculate and the Mother of our God. Thee, more honourable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who without corruption gavest birth to God the Word, the only Theotokos, we magnify in song.
O holy and glorious prophets, who prepared the earth to receive the incarnate Word of God, and ye holy and all-praised apostles, sowers of the word of God who rejoiced together with the reapers, entreat Jesus, whom ye beheld and loved, to have mercy on us.
O fellow-worker of the servants of the word of God and the prospering of their preaching, deliverer of captives, blessed virgin Nino, enlightener of the Georgians, who didst teach King Mirian and Queen Nana and all our people to worship the Holy Trinity, and through them didst enlighten us also: we entreat thee, cease not to intercede for us.
O holy fathers, sureties for our sins, forgive us whatever we have sinned in this world, willingly and unwillingly; pray for us, bless us and deliver us from all temptations.
O holy martyrs, we entreat you, grant us the light of your holy radiance, and entreat Jesus, your joy, to have mercy on us in the hour when our soul is parted from the body and at His fearful second coming, through the prayers of the Theotokos.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (Thrice)
Amen.
Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us; for, being without any defence, this supplication do we sinners offer to Thee, the good Master: have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
O Lord, have mercy on us, for in Thee have we put our trust; be not exceedingly angry with us, neither remember our iniquities; but look upon us in mercy, as Thou art good, and deliver us from Thy just wrath; for Thou art our God and we are Thy people; we are all the work of Thy hands, and Thy name is called upon us: have mercy on us.
Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Open unto us the door of mercy, O blessed Theotokos, that we who trust in thee may not fall, but be delivered from the enemies that oppose us; for thou art the salvation of the Christian race.
O holy apostles, to whom our land was entrusted, who in godly beauty spoke in the Georgian tongue the gifts of the Holy Spirit that came down upon you as tongues of fire; O holy virgin Nino, equal to the apostles, enlightener of the Georgians; O holy helmsmen of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, venerable and God-bearing fathers, martyrs, confessors, venerable and God-bearing fathers, martyrs, confessors, the righteous, the unmercenaries, the fools for Christ and all ye saints of the Apostolic Church of Georgia, who ached with the pain of the people and are unfailing balm for our wounds; who boldly asked a blessing of the all-holy Theotokos and received from on high the gift of speaking beautifully in the Georgian tongue; who struggled in foreign lands and left earthly honours behind; who firmly established the autocephaly of the Church of Georgia and amazed all by theological wisdom; who made the deserts cities and turned the clefts of the rocks, the caverns of the earth and places of reproach into holiness.
O ye who bore holy vestments and vessels together with the plough, who became as candles by translating books and by unceasing prayer, worn out by ascetic labour and divinely kindled for the sake of our life, O unquenchable lamps! We entreat you: magnify your holy mother and nurse, the Apostolic Church of Georgia, and her helmsman, the Most Holy and Most Blessed Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, our great lord and father Ilia, and the most reverend metropolitans, archbishops and bishops (here the bishop of the diocese is commemorated), and all the priestly and monastic orders; enlighten our God-protected people, its Christ-loving authorities and armed forces, and have mercy on all Orthodox Christians in Thy great mercy; forsake not us, your unworthy children; entreat God to forgive us our apostasies, the destruction of churches and the murder of the servants of God, betrayal, envy and disorder, the killing of our children in the womb and many other deeds of which it is shameful even to speak, and the multitude of our sins, voluntary and involuntary.
Entreat God to forgive us the persecution and murder of the saints and the righteous and the proud raising of monuments to them afterwards, feigned piety and unseemly feasting, lawless addiction to drugs, adulteries, thefts, robberies and brigandage, and, in place of the holy life our forefathers led in foreign lands, the bringing of shame on the name of the people.
Grant us fervour of faith like yours and love for our fatherland, obedience to those set over us and the bearing of our crosses without murmuring.
Restore to us piety, many children, the monastic life and care for widows and orphans.
Give rest to the souls of our departed forefathers and parents, and remember not the sins of our brothers and sisters who died in youth and in ignorance.
Grant women to live according to the law, grant us to bring up well our children given by God, and calm our hearts, shaken and defiled by the billows of the world.
Grant us love of a holy life, hatred of unseemly deeds and the repentance that leadeth to heaven, crowning with the saints and a dwelling in the Kingdom of Heaven, that we too with the saints may glorify the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
O ye who hear the prayers of every believer and above all fulfil the petitions of your own people, O fathers, martyrs and all ye saints, ask of the all-merciful God that He shelter from evil us, your children in the spirit and in the flesh, that, rejoicing in your memory and strengthened by kissing your icons, we may imitate your works of faith and, seeing your good works, may glorify our Father who is in heaven always, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
