Prayer before Beginning Study

O most good Lord, send down upon us the grace of Thy Holy Spirit, who granteth understanding and strengtheneth the powers of our souls, that, attending to the teaching given to us, we may grow up to the glory of Thee our Creator, for the comfort of our parents, and for the benefit of the Church and the fatherland.

We thank Thee, O Creator, that Thou hast made us worthy of Thy grace in attending to learning. Bless our rulers, parents and teachers, who lead us to the knowledge of the good, and grant us power and strength to continue this learning anew. Amen.
