Prayer against Evil Thoughts, on Monday Morning after Sleep

O ye who stand before the supremely luminous and unapproachable Godhead, second lights, Archangels Michael and Gabriel: I who hope in you entreat your help before the Holy Trinity, for ye are the guardians of my soul and body. Deliver me from the darkness of sins, deliver me from the curse of my iniquities, and let me not go to perdition. Accept my supplication and offer it before Christ God, for ye desire that none be drowned in the abyss of the passions. Draw near and give your hand to my wretched soul; let not the scale of my sins outweigh the unfathomable sea of God’s mercy. Rescue my soul, trembling at death; deliver me from the hands of the aerial watchers; by the immaterial fire of your ministry in nearness to God burn up these material passions of ours; and at the hour of my wretched soul’s departure from this corruptible body, stand by me as forerunners and companions on my way, and be a wall and a protection for me, for I have lifted up all my hope to you. Disregard not him who trusts in you, turn me not away, O fervent helpers and swift intercessors; but rouse the spiritual hosts, in the number of the Trinity — the Thrones, Principalities, Cherubim and Seraphim, Angels, Authorities, Dominions and Powers, those spiritual and understanding ones — with the offering of hymns; offer it, and ask for me that I fall not away from the portion of the righteous; for to you has been given the petition to obtain this: the forgiveness of all sins from the King and God, to His glory unto the ages of ages. Amen.

O Lord our God, whatever I have sinned this day, whether in deed, word or thought, or with all my senses, knowingly or in ignorance, with understanding or without understanding, willingly or unwillingly, forgive me all for Thy name’s sake! Have mercy on me, O Lord, and heal my wounded soul, and whatever I have sinned in this world, forgive me for Thy love for mankind; grant me this sleep in peace, and send down Thy holy angel to guard me from all defilement of soul and body, and from every blow of the crooked and apostate serpent, and of the dark and unclean aerial watchers and his powers, by the grace and love for mankind of Thine only-begotten Son, with whom Thou art blessed, together with Thine all-holy, good and life-giving Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
