Prayer against Evil Thoughts, on the Lord’s Day, after Rising from Sleep

O Lord Jesus Christ my God, cleanse me from my secret sins. O Lord, Thou knowest my sins; blot them out as Thou willest. I have sinned, O Lord; forgive me for Thy holy name’s sake. O Lord, give me a good angel as the guide and teacher of my life, for many are the snares of the demons against me. O my God, forsake me not, for I have done nothing good before Thee; but for Thy goodness’ sake grant me to make a good beginning. O Lord, teach me that I may be saved, and destroy me not together with my iniquities, O Lover of mankind; for blessed is Thy name, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

O Lord our God, who hast granted to men forgiveness of sins through repentance, and as an image of the forgiveness of sins and of confession didst show us the repentance of the prophet David unto pardon: do Thou, O Master, have mercy on us who have fallen into many and great sins, according to Thy great mercy, and blot out all my iniquity; for I have sinned against Thee, who knowest the secret and hidden things of men’s hearts, and hast authority to forgive sins. Create in me a clean heart, and establish us with a sovereign spirit, and give us the joy of Thy salvation. Cast us not away from Thy presence, but be pleased, as the good God, to have mercy on us, and grant us until our last breath to offer supplications to Thee, to ask forgiveness of sins, and to be counted worthy of the kingdom of heaven. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
