Holy Martyr John the Youth (+1652)

The holy Martyr John the Youth was born in the village of Maries on the island of Thasos. As a boy he was seized by the Turks and accused of insulting Islam. The lawless ones demanded that the blessed one accept Islam, to which he answered with a firm refusal. For this the thirteen-year-old John was beheaded. This happened in Constantinople in 1652.
