St Philogonius, Bishop of Antioch (+323)
Saint Philogonius, Bishop of Antioch, was an advocate before becoming a hierarch, and always defended the interests of the poor, widows and orphans without taking payment. After being widowed the blessed one was tonsured a monk, and soon he was appointed Bishop of Antioch. Thanks to his deep theological and legal education he successfully defended Orthodoxy against the assaults of the Arians. In 323 he committed his soul to the Lord in peace.
