Martyrs Silvanus the Bishop, Luke the Deacon and Mocius the Reader (+312)

The holy Martyrs Silvanus the bishop, Luke the deacon and Mocius the reader suffered in Phoenicia in 312. They were first cruelly tortured, then thrown into prison, and wild beasts were set on them to tear them to pieces. The beasts did not touch the martyrs. The Lord heeded the prayer of His chosen ones and received their souls in peace. The Christians buried the martyrs’ bodies with honour.
