Holy Martyrs Inna, Pinna and Rimma (I–II)
The holy Martyrs Inna, Pinna and Rimma were disciples of the Apostle Andrew, Slavs by origin, from southern Scythia. They preached the Gospel among the barbarians, and converted and baptised many. For this the local prince seized the saints and demanded that they offer sacrifice to the idols. The courageous confessors did not deny Christ. At that time a harsh winter had set in. The rivers were so frozen that not only people but horses with sledges could cross them. The prince ordered long beams to be laid in a hole in the ice, the saints to be tied to them, and slowly lowered into the icy water. When the ice reached the martyrs’ necks, tormented by the terrible cold, they committed their souls to the Lord.
