Prayer of Spouses in Childlessness

Hear us, O merciful and almighty God, that according to our supplication Thy grace may be given us. Be merciful, O Lord, to our prayers; remember Thy law for the multiplying of the race of men, and be a good protector, that by Thy help the word which Thou didst command may be kept. By Thy victorious power Thou didst make all things out of nothing and gavest a beginning to all that is; Thou didst make man also in Thine image, and by a great mystery didst sanctify the union of marriage, as a sign of the mystical union of Christ and the Church. Look, O Merciful One, upon these Thy servants (names), united in the bond of marriage and falling down before Thy help, that Thy mercy may be sent down upon them. Make them fruitful, that they may see their sons’ sons unto the third and fourth generation, and attain to a longed-for old age, and enter the kingdom of heaven through the intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom is due all glory, honour and worship, together with the Holy Spirit, unto the ages.
