Prayer to the Apostle Simon the Canaanite for a Happy Marriage

O holy, glorious and all-praised Apostle of Christ, Simon, who wast counted worthy to receive in thy house in Cana of Galilee our Lord Jesus Christ and His most holy Mother, our Lady the Theotokos, and with thine own eyes didst behold the most glorious miracle of Christ wrought at thy wedding, the changing of water into wine: we pray thee with faith and love: entreat Christ the Lord to change our sin-loving souls into God-loving ones; keep and shelter us by thy prayer from the temptations of the devil and from falls into sin, and send down to us help from on high in our despondency and weaknesses, that we may not strike our feet against the stone of stumbling, but may walk unchangingly in the saving way of Christ’s commandments, until we attain to those blessed mansions of Paradise, where thou now restest and art given joy. O Apostle of the Saviour, put us not to shame who have placed our firm hope in thee, but be our helper and protector all the days of our life, that we may pass this temporal life in piety and in pleasing God, attain to a good and peaceful Christian end, and be counted worthy of a good answer at the dread judgement of Christ; that, escaping the toll-houses of the aerial watchers and the power of the evil prince of this world, we may inherit the kingdom of heaven and glorify the majestic name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, unto the ages of ages.
