Prayer for the Christ-loving Peoples
To Thee we fall down and Thee we ever entreat with all our heart, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ: look with merciful eye upon this Thy people and Thine inheritance, and be merciful to us and to our land, which hath been made desolate by our sins, while we have been taken captive and made slaves of our adversaries. O Master, be pleased to grant us our former freedom, as of old to Jacob, who became a type of Thine only-begotten Son and our God: by Thy good pleasure and will Thou didst lead him forth with all his race, and didst bring him to Thy good land of promise. And as Thou didst free them and forgive them their sins, so also stay all the wrath that hath come upon us. Turn from Thine anger. Turn us, O God, and make us worthy to do the commandments of our salvation, and turn away Thy wrath from us; be not angry with us for ever, neither draw out Thy wrath from generation to generation. O God, turn us and save us, and Thy people shall rejoice in Thee. Show us Thy mercy, O Lord, that we may hear the peace and joy that come from Thee. Yea, O Lord, hear us, Thy sinful and unprofitable servants, at this hour, and shelter this Thy land with glory and peace. For we, the unworthy, trust in Thy power and help, and we hope that Thou wilt lead us to Thy mercy and truth. For we know none other beside Thee, and we call upon Thy holy name as our helper. Cast us not away utterly, but arise and stand up to help Thy sinful and lowly servants, for Thou rememberest not evil and repentest of our wickedness; bring us back from our captivity, and still the storm of the wicked. Deliver us from our sins, that we may rest from evil and glorify Thee, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and Thine only-begotten Son, and Thine all-holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen!
