Venerable John, Bishop of Polybotum (VIII)
From his youth the Venerable John of Polybotum was distinguished by a strict, abstinent life and by compassion. For this he was appointed Bishop of Polybotum (Phrygia). The saint fearlessly denounced the iconoclast Emperor Leo the Isaurian (717–741). For his God-pleasing life he was granted by the Lord the gifts of healing the sick and casting out demons (VIII).
