Holy Martyr Procopius the Reader (+303)
The holy Martyr Procopius was a reader of the church of Jerusalem. He lived a strict ascetic life, for which the Lord granted him the gift of casting out demons. The zealous preacher of the word of God was seized, brought before the tribunal in Caesarea of Palestine, and ordered to offer sacrifice to the idols. The saint firmly refused, for which he was beheaded (+303).
