Righteous Michael the Soldier, of Bulgaria (+866)
The righteous Michael the Soldier was a Bulgarian. From childhood he laboured in piety. There is a tradition that Saint Michael by prayer killed a terrible serpent that carried people off. The saint died in his native town of Potuka in 866. From there his incorrupt relics were translated to the city of Tirnovo, and at the beginning of the nineteenth century to Wallachia.
