Holy Martyr Dauctus (Audactus) and His Daughter Callisthenia (IV)

The holy Martyr Dauctus (Audactus) and his daughter Callisthenia lived in Ephesus, where Dauctus was head of the city. The God-fearing father would not give his daughter in marriage to the Emperor Maximinus (305–313), the persecutor of the Christians, for which he was exiled to the city of Melitene (Armenia) and beheaded (+305–313). Saint Callisthenia reposed in peace in Ephesus around the year 318.
