St Pausicacus, Bishop of Synnada (+606)
Saint Pausicacus, Bishop of Synnada (+606), lived in the Syrian city of Apamea. Brought up as a Christian from childhood, he began an ascetic life early. The saint was granted by the Lord the gift of healing ailments of body and soul. Cyriacus, Patriarch of Constantinople (592–606), consecrated Saint Pausicacus Bishop of Synnada. While in Constantinople Saint Pausicacus healed the Emperor Maurice; on the way back he asked the Lord for water for his companions, exhausted with thirst. Through the saint’s prayer a spring gushed out of the ground. Pausicacus reposed in peace in 606.
