St Hermogenes, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia (+1612)

Saint Hermogenes, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, met a martyr’s end in 1612. On 12 May 1913 the Holy Synod of the Russian Church numbered the blessed father among the saints and established the days of his commemoration: 17 February, the day of his repose (information about the life and labours of Saint Hermogenes is included in the reading for that day), and 12 May, the day of his canonisation.
