Holy Martyr Papas (+305–311)
The holy Martyr Papas (+305–311) lived in the city of Laranda (Asia Minor) in the time of the Emperor Maximian (305–311). For confessing Christ he was cruelly beaten, and then, in boots studded with nails, he was led first to Neocaesarea and then to Seleucia of Isauria. Saint Papas was tied to a barren tree, and the tree brought forth fruit.
