Uncovering of the Relics of the Holy Martyr Menas (867–869)
The holy Martyr Menas Kallikelados (the Eloquent) met his end together with Saints Hermogenes and Eugraphus (commemorated 10 December) around 313. In the reign of Basil the Macedonian (867–886) the saint appeared in a dream to a pious Christian and pointed out where his body lay. In accordance with this vision, his holy relics were recovered by the military commander Marcian.
