St Eustathius I, Archbishop of Serbia (+c. 1285)
The Venerable Eustathius, a valiant ascetic and a kind teacher, enjoyed universal love. Soon he was elected hegumen of the monastery. Some years later the saint was consecrated bishop. The flock warmly received the hierarch, rich in spiritual experience and distinguished by his ascetic life.
Shortly afterwards the venerable father became Archbishop of Serbia. For seven years he governed the Church wisely, and in 1285 committed his soul to the Lord in peace.
