St Spyridon of Trimythous was born at the end of the 3rd century on the island of Cyprus. He was a simple shepherd who raised children with his wife. After his wife's death Spyridon was chosen bishop of the city of Trimythous. As bishop he proved a good shepherd. At his prayers the Lord worked miracles: sending rain, healing the sick and raising the dead. St Spyridon also took part in the First Ecumenical Council, where he convinced his opponents of the error of Arius's teaching.
This icon of St Spyridon of Trimythous in a moulded frame is a good gift for Christians who venerate this wonderful saint.
