The Patriarchate's publishing house 'Alilo' presents to the reader a translation of the well-known book by Saint Theophan the Recluse, "Thoughts for Each Day of the Year." This book was first published on Athos in 1881, and the reader's interest in it has not waned since.
The book reveals a fascinating path of communion between a great Christian thinker and Holy Scripture. Saint Theophan's flow of thought is permeated with the spirit of true asceticism, shaped through deep study of patristic literature and personal spiritual experience. The text is maximally close to the perception of the modern reader. It is intended for the widest possible audience.
The practical value of this edition is great. Members of the parish will be able to read the daily Gospel and Epistle readings together with their commentary every day, which will allow them not to miss a single day of the liturgical year; moreover, they will come to the Liturgy better prepared and disposed to hear the corresponding passage from Holy Scripture.
The publishing house 'Alilo' will very soon offer you the third volume of "Thoughts for Each Day of the Year" (the Georgian edition consists of 3 volumes).
