Holy Martyr Philumenus (+c. 274)
The holy Martyr Philumenus lived in Ancyra of Galatia and earned his living by selling grain. When the Emperor Aurelian (270–275) began to persecute the Christians, envious men denounced the saint to the governor Felix, saying that he confessed Christ. Standing before the tribunal, Philumenus did not deny the true God, for which he was terribly tortured until, drained of blood, he committed his soul to the Lord. This happened in 274.
