The Translation of the Relics of the Venerable John of Rila (1238)

The Venerable John of Rila lived and laboured in Bulgaria; his incorrupt relics were translated from the city of Sredets (Sofia) to Tarnovo, the capital of Bulgaria at that time, on 19 October 1238. The saint’s Life is included in the reading for 18 August.
