Holy Martyrs Theodore, Mianus, Julian and Kion (+305–311)
The holy Martyrs Theodore, Mianus, Julian and Kion lived in the time of the Emperor Maximian Galerius (305–311) and came from the village of Kandabla (near Nicomedia). For confessing Christ they were arrested and tortured: first they were torn with iron hooks, and then locked in a red-hot bath-house. So that the martyrs would not escape, the royal seal was set on the doors, but an angel of the Lord set them free. The soldiers seized the saints again and led them out of the city to be put to death. The lambs of Christ first asked for time to pray, and then joyfully commended their souls to the Lord. The lawless hacked their bodies to pieces and burned them.
