Synaxis of the Archangel Gabriel

The Synaxis of the Archangel Gabriel is celebrated on the day after the Annunciation, 26 March (see the reading for that day). On 13 July this feast is kept a second time. Apparently the reason for its institution was the building of a church dedicated to the holy archangel in Constantinople in the eighteenth century.
