Righteous Joanna the Myrrhbearer (I)
Saint Joanna the Myrrhbearer, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, was one of the women who accompanied the Lord Jesus Christ during His preaching and ministered to Him. After the Saviour’s crucifixion Joanna too came with the other women to the Lord’s tomb and “heard from the angels the longed-for word: Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen from the tomb, and by death hath trampled down death.”
