St Michael, First Metropolitan of Kiev and All Russia (+992)

Saint Michael, first Metropolitan of Kiev and All Russia, came with his clergy in 989 to Korsun, to the newly baptised (988) Prince Vladimir, Equal to the Apostles (commemorated 15 July). A heavy but grace-filled ministry fell to the lot of the first Metropolitan of Russia. The wise, gentle, strict and just hierarch ended his earthly life in peace on 15 July 992.
