Venerable Theodore the Hermit (VI)
The Venerable Theodore the Hermit lived in the sixth century. In his youth he left the world and withdrew into the desert of the Jordan. The saint was granted by the Lord the grace of wonderworking. Once, as he was travelling by ship to Constantinople, through the Venerable Theodore’s prayer water drawn from the sea became fit to drink and quenched the thirst of his fellow travellers. When the travellers began to express their gratitude to the venerable father, Saint Theodore said to them: “The Lord looked with the eye of mercy on people exhausted for lack of water, and that is why He heard my prayer.”
