Venerable Martha and Mary, Sisters of Lazarus (I)

The venerable sisters Martha and Mary followed Christ even before He raised their brother Lazarus from the dead. After the killing of the archdeacon Stephen, the persecution of the Church of Jerusalem and the banishment of Lazarus from the holy city, they accompanied their brother to various countries and helped him in his apostolic labours. No information about the place and time of the holy sisters’ deaths has been preserved.
