St Nicholas Mystikos (+925)

Saint Nicholas Mystikos was Patriarch of Constantinople; he was given the name Mystikos (a high official of the secret council) for his service on this council at the royal court. He ascended the patriarchal throne in 895. In 905, for excommunicating the Emperor Leo VI, who had married unlawfully for the fourth time, Saint Nicholas was deprived of his rank and exiled. In 911, after the death of the lawless autocrat, he returned to his see and governed the Church in peace until his death.
