Venerable Titus the Wonderworker (IX)
The Venerable Titus the Wonderworker (IX) laboured in the monastic life from his youth in the monastery of Studios, near Constantinople. By fasting, a holy life and humility the Venerable Titus won the love of all the brethren and, at their request, was ordained presbyter. When the heresy of the iconoclasts was raging, the Venerable Titus firmly defended the Orthodox rule of the veneration of the holy icons. For his virtuous life he received from the Lord the gift of wonderworking. He reposed in deep old age.
