Venerable Maximus the Syrian (IV)

The Venerable Maximus the Syrian (IV) lived in Syria. He took on poverty of his own will and devoted himself to the service of his neighbours. The door of the holy father’s hut was always open to visitors. Those in need could always receive food here from two vessels filled with bread and oil, which by God’s will never became empty.
