Holy King Theodosius the Great (IV)
The holy Emperor Theodosius the Great dealt paganism a crushing blow during his reign (379–395). He issued a law by which every kind of idol-worship was counted a crime. The pious king faithfully defended the Orthodox faith in the struggle with the heretics. He also convened the Second Ecumenical Council (381).
