Description
Chroniclers remembered the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Olga as “the forerunner of the Christian land”. She was the first ruler of Rus' to be baptised. Although her son Svyatoslav remained a pagan, her grandson, the holy Prince Vladimir, completed the baptism of Rus' that his grandmother had begun. It is for this bold step from the darkness of paganism to the light of Orthodoxy that St Olga is glorified among the Equal-to-the-Apostles, those equal to the apostles in spreading the Orthodox faith.
This icon of the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Princess Olga in a moulded frame is a good name-day gift for anyone named Olga.
