St Xenia lived in St Petersburg in the 18th century. At 26 she buried her husband Andrew after only three years of marriage. The loss shook the young woman so deeply that she took up the feat of foolishness for Christ: she gave all her property to the poor, put on men's clothing and called herself by her late husband's name. For her love for her husband and her secret help to others, St Xenia received from God the gift of clairvoyance while still alive, and after her death healings began at her grave.
This icon of Blessed Xenia of St Petersburg in a moulded frame is a meaningful name-day gift for anyone named Xenia.
