Holy Apostle Timon of the Seventy (I)

The holy Apostle Timon was one of the seven deacons whom the apostles chose to serve the poor Christian widows. Afterwards he was chosen Bishop of the Arabian city of Bostra. In this rank the blessed one converted many to Christianity, and at last met a martyr’s end (see the reading for 28 July).
