Venerable Evarestus (+825)
The Venerable Evarestus was born in Galatia, into a noble family. From his youth he longed for the monastic life, and especially loved reading the books of Saint Ephraim the Syrian. At last the blessed one went to the Studion monastery and continued his labours there. The Lord’s chosen one reposed in peace in 825, at the age of seventy-five. He was buried in Constantinople, in the Kokorovios monastery, which he himself had founded.
