Holy Martyr Themistocles (+251)

The holy Martyr Themistocles lived in the Lycian city of Myra in the reign of the God-fighting Emperor Decius (249–251). Themistocles was a shepherd. During the persecution of the Christians the saint sheltered in his house an Orthodox believer named Dioscorides, while he himself gave himself up to the persecutors and after terrible torture committed his soul to the Lord (+251).
