Holy Martyrs Elias, Probus and Ares of Egypt (+308)
The holy Martyrs Elias, Probus and Ares met their end during the persecution of the Orthodox by the Emperor Maximian (305–311). They had taken on the service of captive Christians, for which they were seized in the Palestinian city of Ascalon and cruelly tortured. The Lord’s chosen ones courageously endured their torments, after which Saint Ares was burned, and Elias and Probus were beheaded (+308).
