The Prophet Ahijah (+960 Before the Nativity of Christ)

The Prophet Ahijah was born in the city of Shiloh. He was a contemporary of the kings Solomon and Jeroboam (1010–963 before the Nativity of Christ). Ahijah revealed to Jeroboam that he would reign over the ten tribes of Israel, and later, for his lawlessness, foretold the rooting out of his whole house (3 Kings 14:6–16). All the saint’s predictions were fulfilled. The blessed Ahijah reached a deep old age; in his old age he lost his sight and fell ill, and at last, in 960 before the Nativity of Christ, he reposed in peace.
