Venerable Julian (IV)
The Venerable Julian the hermit laboured in Mesopotamia, on the bank of the river Euphrates. For his holy life he was granted by the Lord the gift of working miracles. The blessed one saved from death a widow’s only son, who had fallen into a well: through his prayer the boy stood in the water and did not sink until help came. Once, while at prayer, the venerable father heard a voice that told him of the approaching end of the Emperor Julian the Apostate (361–363). Soon the prophecy was fulfilled.
