Holy Martyr Florentius (I–II)

The holy Martyr Florentius lived in Thessalonica. He fearlessly exposed the false religion of the idol-worshippers and preached the law of Christ. For this the pagans seized the Lord’s chosen one and tortured him, and then threw him onto a pyre, where he died. According to one account this happened in the first or second century, and according to another at the beginning of the third.
