Venerable Sabbatius of Solovki (+1435)

The Venerable Sabbatius of Solovki (+1435) came to the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery in 1396 and was tonsured a monk. From there he moved to labour on Valaam, a rocky island in Lake Ladoga, and then made his way to the desolate island of Solovki and settled there. The saint died on 27 September 1435.
