Venerable Cheremon of Egypt (IV)
The Venerable Cheremon of Egypt laboured in the desert of Scetis in Egypt. His name is mentioned in the Lausiac History of Palladius and in the Alphabetical Patericon. The saint’s cave lay forty stadia from the church. The venerable father, who was over a hundred years old, reposed while at his handiwork, at the end of the fourth or the beginning of the fifth century. The Venerable Theodore the Studite (commemorated 11 November) also mentions the blessed Cheremon in the readings for Cheesefare Saturday, in the sixth ode of the canon at Matins.
