Holy Father Kaikhosro the Georgian (+1612)

The holy martyr Kaikhosro the Georgian (1612). Information about Saint Kaikhosro the Georgian is found in the “Pilgrimage” of Timote Gabashvili, a well-known churchman and writer of the eighteenth century.

Timote Gabashvili describes the holy places of Jerusalem and the agapae and frescoes of the Georgian Monastery of the Cross. Among other things he notes: “…And then from Jerusalem we came to the monastery of the Georgians, the Cross, and beheld: on the walls are painted the holy fathers and martyrs of Georgia with haloes and crowns. These are they…” The names of the saints are listed, and among them “the holy martyr Kaikhosro the Georgian, whom the khan Shah Abbas martyred for the holy icons, in the koronikon 300” (1612).
